Movember Fundraising
By Paul Fears | 04 December 2023
In November 2023, a group of employees at Bunting’s Berkhamsted operation took on the challenge of growing a moustache to raise funds for Movember. Adam Pope, David Hocking, David Lewis and David Pollard refrained from trimming the hair above their top lip for the whole of the month and have raised, so far, over £1,600.
Movember was founded in 2003 to address the growing crisis of men’s health, focusing on issues including mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
Over twenty years, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
“Movember provides an opportunity to visually highlight men’s health issues for the whole of the month,” explained David Hocking, General Manager of Bunting-Berkhamsted. “Simply by growing a moustache men are making a statement. You walk down a road and see other men growing moustaches and feel part of a movement for change. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and made a donation. And now I can shave it off!”
Movember is more than just moustaches!
Liam Noble, Bunting’s quality inspector, took on his own challenge for Movember and swam over 60km in the month. He completed the challenge at 8pm on the 30th November and raised £455.
Bunting’s Berkhamsted employees also took part in many other activities including walking 60km or generally raising awareness by gathering donations from family and friends. As part of its charitable giving, the Bunting Magnetic Group have generously made an additional donation.
Thank you and well done to all who took part, donated and generally raised awareness of this vitally important cause.
Well done to everyone who took on a challenge for Movember!
